High Tea

Matt and I spent this past weekend in Victoria, which is on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It was a fun little escape for the weekend, and a great way to unwind after the craziness of the holidays. We stayed at the Fairmont Empress hotel, which is absolutely amazing.

There's Matt in front of it, looking not like a tourist at all... Doesn't it look like a castle though? It sits right on the water, so the views were amazing.

Jacket: JCrew; Scarf: Kate Spade; Pants: Rag and Bone; Shoes: Tory Burch
Kind of like a mini England, Victoria gets decked out for Christmas. This was the tree in the lobby of the hotel - it was huge! It was also very chilly (again like a mini England!) which was quite a change from the warm California weather we had gotten used to! As a result, I wore black Rag and Bone skinnies with my red JCrew pea coat and toted around this black and white Kate Spade scarf with matching mittens as well.

Shoes: Tory Burch
My Tory Burch driving mocs were great for walking around in, they're so comfortable! However, I found myself wishing that I had brought my boots wig me - I was cold!

We finished off the afternoon with high tea, which at the empress is a big deal.

Shirt: JCrew; Sweater: Target; Ring: Jennifer Zeuner
I had been wearing this all day (even since the 7am ferry boat ride!), partly because I knew I wouldn't have to worry about changing for tea. My embellished collar JCrew top worked perfectly under this cream collared cable knit sweater from Target. It also added just enough glam to my cozy tourist outfit to be ok at tea time.

Until next time,
xo
